Present Drs M Abdul Khak MHum, Head of
Language Hall of East Java Province and Iqbal Nurul Azhar S.S., M.Hum, the founder and
presidium of Indonesian Linguist Association (ILMI) as well as compiler of Madura
language dictionary.
M Abdul Khak reminded the importance of
regional language in enriching Indonesian language through Big Indonesian
Dictionary (KBBI) because the ideals of Indonesian language as the language of
the world to be realized.
"If Indonesian becomes a world
language, then the international language dictionaries averages an entry above
500,000, but currently KBBI only has an entry of about 108,000, not a
quarter," said Abdul Khak explained obstacles that block Indonesian step
into language world.
Procedures and steps to enter the word in
KBBI displayed Khak to participants because by entering the word in KBBI will
enrich and preserve Indonesian vocabulary.
The way is quite easy, let alone the
participants are not foreign using technology in this digital era. Among them
ranging from the main page KBBI, statistics page, account management, word
lists, and live enter the word per word as well as the translation of each
word.
"This seminar makes me more deeply
aware of the digital era in language and literature," said Sari Herleni, a
participant who claimed to come from Language hall in south Sumatra
Alumnus of Andalas University majoring in
Indonesian Literature added, this linguistic seminar is very helpful in the
process of his work and he is ready to face the digital era through the
language and literature that became the concentration of his research.
